It’s nearly V-day and we’ve got something extra special in store for you this year! On Sunday, February 12, join us at Divan Orange for a special edition Love Story Slam featuring the now Toronto-based Alessandra Naccarato! Slammers are encouraged (although not required) to slam on topics related to LOVE and because that it’s a “Story Slam”, we’re upping the time limit to 5 whole minutes! It promises to be sexy night.

SLAM FORMAT
The slam will unfold in special story-telling format, which is to say poets will have 5 minutes instead of just 3 and are encouraged (though not required) to slam about things related to love. 12 slots will be available — want to secure yours in advance? Just post on the Facebook event wall and we’ll set one aside one for you! We will reserve a maximum of 6 slam spots in advance – but you can always show up on the night of the event (you must arrive by 7:30 p.m.), where we’ll conduct a draw to determine which of the interested poets will score the last six spots. Keep in mind that your spot is only reserved once someone from the Collective responds with a confirmation.
NOTE: This slam is not part of the regular season and therefore does not qualify slammers for the semi-finals later this year.
OPEN MIC
We’ll also have 4 open mic spots available for those who don’t want to slam (be brave, we will love you), with two spots prioritized for Francophone poets.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR PERFORMERS
In order to guarantee your open mic or slam spot, whether your signed-up in advance or want to participate in the draw on the night of the show, you MUST arrive at the venue by 7:30 p.m. (no exceptions).
QUESTIONS?
If you have questions, don’t hesitate to leave comment on our Facebook page and a Collective member will respond. If you’re not a Facebooker, email media@throwcollective.com.
